The Privacy Paradox
With the emergence of Artificial Intelligence in recent years and rapid incorporation in daily and work life, AI has transformed working industries extensively. In order for companies to progress not only alongside competing companies but really the rest of the world, they are practically required to implement Artificial Intelligence within their operational systems. However, for firms handling sensitive, regulated data — accountants, lawyers, financial advisors, healthcare providers — the AI revolution came with an unacceptable condition: hand over your data.
Big cloud-based AI services carry risk. For a solicitor handling privileged communications, an auditor reviewing confidential financial statements, or a financial advisor processing client portfolios, this was not a minor inconvenience. It was a professional and regulatory impossibility.
Skipjak Technologies was founded to resolve this contradiction. With the use of Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) capability, Skipjak will be able to incorporate data from web-based resources in its query responses and still keep up with the majority of AI cloud servers' exponentially fast growth while ensuring that information stays on device and that clouds are private.

Intensive development of Skipjak's core on-device AI engine. The team focuses on optimising large language model inference to run efficiently on Apple Silicon, achieving document summarisation speeds that rival cloud-based alternatives.
Device Launch
Skipjak's first application launches for download. Professional services firms gain access to AI document intelligence that runs entirely locally for the first time.

We don't offer data residency options or configurable privacy levels. Skipjak has one mode: everything on your device, nothing transmitted externally. This decision is intentional. When privacy is optional, it is eventually compromised. We removed the option.

Skipjak was not designed for consumers and then retrofitted for professional use. Every interface decision, every architecture choice, every feature was conceived from day one for professionals who operate under regulatory scrutiny. We understand SRA, ICAEW, FCA, and ICO requirements because they informed our design.

With background spanning technology and financial services, he recognised that the data privacy problem was not a feature gap to be patched — it was an architecture problem to be solved from scratch.

Software Engineer & CTOKing Chong is the architect behind Skipjak's AI platform, from constructing the end-to-end system to designing every key feature, and defining the future technical roadmap. With Chong's accomplished background developing software for various regulated industries, he has built Skipjak's AI service from the ground up to be incredibly reliant, and secure while ensuring users a seamless AI experience without ever compromising user privacy.
